
The next block I have made for the Farmer’s Wife QAL is number 49 – Katherine.
I used three colours, as suggested in the book, and chose my three blues.
The block is made with eight rectangles, each with a triangular corner of a different colour. It’s the different colours and the rotation of the rectangles in each quadrant that gives it its interesting pattern once finished.
I decided that the easiest way to make each section was using the rectangle from the Perfect Patchwork Template Set C and snowballing the corner with the appropriate triangle from Set A.
I then sewed each rectangle to its adjacent partner to create squares, and checked my accuracy by squaring them up before sewing them altogether for the finished block.
