This block, Viola, has two quarters that look like little chequered flags. The squares to make them I cut with a ruler and rotary cutter, and then pieced on my machine. It was a challenge to get the points matching up nicely, but I think I’ve done a pretty good job!
The other two quarters are made from sets of four triangles. These I cut using templates and pieced on the machine, as triangles aren’t as easy to cut with a ruler!
I think the yellow looks good it this block to make the ‘flag’ pieces stand out. The other two colours I have used are dark and mid blue.
