Back in August 2013 I began an ABC quilt as part of a six month quilt along. Then after I’d completed the first four months my sewing machine, all my fabric and the blocks I’d made so far were packed up and shipped back to the UK from Australia. The sewing machine and fabric were unpacked as soon as they arrived, but the quilt blocks remained in a box until this month when I decided it was about time I got them out and finished making the rest of them!
So this month I set my goal for A Lovely Year of Finishes (I was #47 on the link up) to make the next five blocks for my quilt. I have been keeping the red and blue fabric that I had been using for the background so that I wouldn’t run out when I eventually came to make the rest of the blocks (because it’s now a very long way to go to the shop it came from to buy some more!!)
And here they are:

That just leaves the final five blocks to make – I guess that will be my goal for August!

It’s so funny that you posted this because I pulled out my Easy As ABCs blocks today and I’m planning on finishing the last few that I need to do tomorrow!
Haha! Aw, I love that you guys are still wanting to finish this! I guess I’d better quilt mine soon, lol! At first the size put me off, but now that I know I CAN quilt that on my little machine, it’s now a case of time (and shoulder muscle commitment!)…
I’m still scared about quilting it but I’m not even thinking about that yet. I’m just wanting to get the quilt too finished by the end of August.
