Schools here went back last Wednesday, and my list of things I needed to make before they went back contained two things, one of which was PE shorts.
Back in June the start of the new school year seemed ages away, and so as usually happens, it got to a few days before the beginning of term before I actually started sewing – nothing like a deadline to get you moving!
These shorts were nice and simple. They are made in a black cotton drill using the shorts pattern I’ve used lots before by Dana at MADE.
I meant to cut them slightly longer, but forgot and so turned up a smaller hem. These are the size 4, and I think the next time we need shorts I might actually have to go to the next size up – the short skinny child might finally be growing!
Now I just need to make a second pair for after school gymnastics. And this time I’ll try to remember to cut them longer like in my original plan!
