Large Patchwork Tag Blanket

Tag blankets were the first things I made when I bought my sewing machine, but it’s been a while since I last made one.

This one was for a friend’s little boy who was turning two. He’s a bit older than children I’ve made them for previously, but likes to take one with him in the pushchair on the school run. Because of this I made it quite large and attached a long ribbon at one end with poppers on so that it no longer falls out and ends up under the wheels.

I went through all the minky I had left in my fabric cupboard and found several pieces of vehicle minky in random shapes and sizes, so I made it in a patchwork style with squares.

Around the edges are a range of matching coloured ribbon tags, and the back is a large piece of minky I had with planes on.

When I came to take photos a certain little someone tried to pinch it!

I think he might want one of his own!
