Tidal Pool Block Testing

Last week I got to do some pattern testing for a new quilt block, and now that the pattern has been published I can share my pictures here 🙂

This is the Tidal Pool block by Molli Sparkles. It was a quick block to put together – I’m notoriously slow at sewing (or more precisely the cutting and getting the pieces ready to sew) and I managed to make two 12″ blocks in one day (and that includes taking children to and from school and looking after a baby, so for me that was super quick!)

Given the name, I raided the cupboard for blue fabrics. I went with a dark blue solid for the background and a patterned blue for the foreground. For the variation block I added another plain blue in a lighter colour.

I really enjoy pattern testing and it’s very exciting to see suggestions you’ve made incorporated in the final pattern!

You can find the tutorial to make your own Tidal Pool blocks over on Molli Sparkle’s blog.
